Mediator Hamovitz has a respectful and tactful approach that handles even the most difficult Mediation participants. He has been successful at resolving almost all of the cases brought to him at Mediation, largely because he keeps a dialogue moving forward towards settlement even when the parties become entrenched. He is tenacious at navigating the sometimes complex issues that derail settlements. He has the unique ability to reframe the issues, thereby avoiding the impasses that often take place.
Mediator Hamovitz is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, with a degree in Economics. This gives him a business perspective for the entities involved in mediation.
Furthermore, Mediator Hamovitz graduated from Loyola Law School, which is known for its practical approach towards the practice of law.
Mediator Hamovitz has served as a Judge Pro Tem on The Los Angeles County Superior Court, giving him a perspective from the bench, while at the same time having been a lawyer for over 35 years, which gives him the perspective of the costs and issues that clients face that need to be considered as part of mediation.
Since the early 1990's, he has settled hundreds of cases with complex facts and legal issues, earning a reputation as an accomplished mediator who can resolve even the most difficult cases.
Mediator Hamovitz is a Settlement Officer with the Los Angeles County Superior Court, and he was in Dispute Resolution Services with the LA County Bar. He is also an arbitrator with ACMAS of the LA County Bar Association.
